Welcome to the Training and Occupational Licensing Matrix
The Training and Occupational Licensing Matrix helps you identify types of Vocational Education and Training that is acknowledged as meeting the requirements for a Victorian occupational licence or ticket. While not exhaustive, the list is periodically updated and is a guide.
Licensing generally sets the minimum acceptable standards for industry and practitioners in that industry. For the purpose of this licensing matrix, licensing includes any form of regulation, including industry self regulation, that restricts entry into an occupation or profession or limits the activities of someone in an occupation or profession. It may include registration, approval, certification, a permit or a ticket, that is required by someone to gain employment, or carry out all or part of a function within their occupation.
Training may only be one component of a licence. The Government Department or Authority responsible for issuing the licence may require evidence of experience or they may require you to undertake an assessment conducted by the department or authority. Links to general websites are provided and you should contact the relevant Government Department or Authority for more specific information. Before undertaking any training it is your responsibility to confirm with the relevant department or authority the training required and if there are any additional requirements.
