Skills Recognition Tool
Welcome to the Skills Recognition Tool

This tool helps the learner and assessor work together through a Recognition of Prior Learning process. It helps the learner gain formal recognition of skills they already have in order to gain credit for qualifications.

The tool will ask you a number of questions and use your answers to guide you to the types of evidence you need to provide for Recognition of Current Competence (RCC) or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

What is RCC/RPL?

Throughout your life you will gain valuable skills and knowledge through formal and informal training and education, work experience and general life experience.

Recognition of Current Competency (RCC) and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) mean recognition of competencies currently held, regardless of how, when or where the learning occurred, so that they may be counted towards the achievement of a qualification.

With RCC and RPL, you can use the skills and knowledge you have gained to apply for recognition so that you do not have to relearn things you already know.
