Review of the FNS04 Financial Services Training Package, 02-Feb-09 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Consultation with stakeholders from industry, government, regulators and training providers has been held in the ACT, Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales, Tasmania, Western Australia and South Australia. Further consultations will continue in January and February across various states and territories. At the end of the consultation, research and analysis process a draft report on the findings and recommendations for review activities will be submitted to the National Project Reference Group (NPRG) in Sydney on 18 February 2009. Once accepted by the NPRG and IBSA, this report will form the basis for changes to FNS04. A number of qualifications in the BCF00 Off-Site Construction Training Package contain the imported unit MEM2.5C11 Measure with graduated devices from the old Metal and Engineering Training Package. This unit has been replaced by MEM12023A Perform engineering measurements in the MEM05 Metal and Engineering Training Package and is shown in the mapping table on page 261 of Volume 1 in the Metals and Engineering Package documentation. The change, however, was not made to the Off-Site Construction Training Package which still contains the old unit. Although unit MEM2.5C11 still exists, using it will cause administrative problems for providers because their current systems will not accept the old code. Following consultation with the Construction and Property Services Industry Skills Council (CPSISC) and Skills Victoria, the Curriculum Maintenance Manager (CMM) for Building & Construction, Furnishing and Water has been requested by Skills Victoria to inform relevant stakeholders that they may use the updated equivalent unit MEM12023A Perform engineering measurements in place of MEM2.5C11 Measure with graduated devices pending the introduction of the CPC08 Training Package that will address this issue. It has been developed as a result of extensive consultation and validation that took place between August 2005 and February 2007. The package has been revised to address the needs of all sectors of the polymer processing (plastics, rubber and cablemaking) industries. All existing units have been revised and over 20 new technical units have been developed to meet the skill needs identified in the review. Skill gaps have been addressed using a mixture of new units and units imported from other Training Packages. All qualifications have revised packaging rules. Qualifications include Certificate II in Polymer Processing, Certificate III in Polymer Processing, Certificate IV in Polymer Technology, Diploma of Polymer Technology and Advanced Diploma of Polymer Technology. Direct entry is now possible for learners at Diploma level. The Certificate I in Plastics, Rubber and Cablemaking has not been carried forward and has been replaced by the Certificate I in Process Manufacturing from the MSA07 (Version 2) Manufacturing Training Package.
